Collaborative Research

Members of the BMS Department are engaged in active research collaboration with Arizona State University and with the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen), which is the founding entity on the downtown Phoenix Biomedical Campus. BMS faculty research programs will be housed in the new Arizona Biomedical Collaborative (ABC-1) research building, which is scheduled for completion and occupancy by faculty in June 2007. BMS faculty will be housed in ABC-1 together with the ASU Department of Biomedical Informatics in collaboration with The University of Arizona, which supports a partnership between academic researchers, clinical practitioners and regional healthcare providers to advance research and education in the science and practice of biomedical informatics. BMS faculty research programs are also housed at TGen and on the Tempe and West Campuses of ASU. Strong research and educational ties are also maintained between faculty in BMS and parallel basic sciences departments at the UA Tucson College of Medicine campus.
